Guide Training Service

We have run and managed the Private Hotel since April 1993. Kyainge Tong is a small frontier town which by this virtue makes it more interesting for tourists but harder to find guides with fluent English. I therefore reluctantly have to use the bike taxi drivers who ar limited in their use of English. Not surprisingly they have become indispensable as guides in Kyainge Tong and albeit having an excellent knowledge of the area and surrounding ethnic tribes, they are often unable to adequately explain every thing to the satisfactions of the tourists. This, in the worst cases can lead them to give incorrect information to the tourists.

Kyainge Tong is an excellent hub to all the villages in the Golden Traingle area. Though the roads can be rough in places, all the interesting areas are easily accessible by car and no overnight stays are required. I personally have visited the whole region over the last 35 years both in my former capacity as a solider and latterly as Police Chief of the Eastern Shan State.

Due to the fact that I am a retired government servant I fell added responsibility to promote the tourism in this area. This will not only benefit the urban people and the various ethic groups but also the image of Kyainge Tong and inturn Myanmar, to the outside world.

Without upsetting the older and more experienced guides in Kyainge Tong and using my hotel as the base I have embarked on a series of "Free Local Guide Training Classes" to the college students in the area.
This, hopefully will pay benefits in the near future as the new young and well trained guides with extensive knowledge of the area and well spoken English become available for Travels & Tours Companies.

Gon Shan Traditional Dance

Dear clients,

Welcome to Private Hotel.

As a special honour for the groups above 30 paying guests we are happy to arrange a complimentary Gon shan traditional dance, featuring such items as ever popular Lamon dance etc. on the lawn in front of our hotel.
The basic steps of the popular Lamon dance are very simple and everybody is most welcomed to participate. The Lamon dance is popular in the Golden Traingle area. In almost every village and all over the town the joyful drum beats of the dance can be heard all year round.

This is duet dance performed by couples and is danced at any and every occasion in this area. The music of the Lamon dance also has a magnetic pull that draws in all the spectators to join in the dance.
Private Hotel is proud to present this Gon Shan traditional Lamon dance to all its patrons with a combined BBQ dinner on the lawn in front of the hotel.

Private Hotel thank all its collegues for its support during the old year and hope to receive the same kind of support in the coming year also.
